Latin America continues to be a large market for India’s exports. India’s exports to Latin America amounted to $12.74 billion in 2020-21 (April-March), according to the figures released by the Commerce Ministry of India.  India’s total global exports have declined by 7% from $313 billion to $291 billion in the same period. Brazil continued as the number 1 destination of India’s exports to the region, with shipments valued at $4.25 billion.

Indian rice exporters to gain market share

Indian rice exporters to gain market share.The credit profile of rice exporters is likely to improve over the near-to-medium term due to increase in market share following production shortfall in parts of South Asia, India Ratings and Research (Ind-Ra) said in a report.

"Credit profile of rice exporters to improve over the near-to-medium term on the back of increased market share, higher realisations and improved liquidity. Significant production shortfall in parts of South Asia is likely to result in a substantial gain in market share by various Indian exporters," Ind-Ra said.
