Spain will ban the use of plastic bags in 2020

The government plans to ban the total distribution of plastic bags to consumers from January 2020, and, until then, plans to force the collection of them from March 2018, according to the draft Royal Decree for the reduction of this material, which the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries, Food and Environment (MAPAMA) has opened for public consultation this Wednesday, July 26th, and until next September 15th.

INDIA’S TEA EXPORTS MAY INCREASE

India’s tea exports may increase. With the likelihood of a lower tea production in the global markets, the prospects of India's tea exports appear favorable, along with the positive impact on domestic prices this year, stated ICRA.

European Union (EU) rejections on Indian seafood exports have gone down consistently in last five years. What is significant is that the rejection rate has refused to slip from its low plateau, despite EU raising its rejection benchmarks by as much as five times. “After the recent revision in EU’s export quality bar, the rejections of seafood exports could have been as high as 50%, compared to the earlier standards that had effected 10% rejections.

India’s exports grew at its fastest pace in multiple years by 17.5% in February while imports were up 21.8%, government data showed on Wednesday. Analysts were cautious in indicating to a revival in global trade and uptick in industrial growth as the February numbers came on the back of a decline in exports and imports in the same month last year.

Spanish exports reached a record 254.53 billion euros in 2016. Last year, 1.7% in value, a growth rate above that registered in economies such as Germany (+ 1.2%), Italy (+1,1%), France (-0.9%), the United Kingdom (-0.2%), the United States (-3.2%), China (-6.4%) or Japan (-7.4%).

The Spanish export of plums, peaches and nectarines to China in 2016 totaled 815 tons worth 1.32 million Euro, according to the latest data (up to October) provided by the Directorate General of Customs.
